The public regime (Access Act)
School service centres and public schools are public bodies subject to the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information (Access Act), also amended by Law 25.
What is similar to the private sector
Designated governance, privacy impact assessments for projects, incident management and register, transparency, rights of access and rectification.
What differs
- A person in charge (the highest authority or their delegate) and a committee on access to information and the protection of personal information.
- Response deadlines for access requests: generally 20 days (versus 30 days in the private sector).
- Exceptions and restrictions on access specific to the public sector.
- Special rules on disclosure of information between public bodies.
