Minor students and platforms
Consent and parental authority
For a child under 14, consent is given by the person with parental authority; from age 14, the student may consent on their own in some cases. Public-sector rules may apply differently: validate.
Student records
- Retention according to an official schedule, then destruction or archiving.
- Access by parents, the student and staff on a need-to-know basis.
- Transfers between schools: only what is necessary.
Photos and videos
Clear and specific authorization (purpose, duration, dissemination) for class photos, the website, social media.
Third-party platforms (e.g. virtual classrooms, apps)
Before using a platform with student data: PIA, check the server location and the contract (limited use, deletion), and validation by the person in charge.
Example. A teacher wants to use an online portfolio app: they first request validation (PIA and contract), because names and work of minor students are personal information.
