The 5 golden rules

1.Be wary of urgency

A message that pressures you to act "immediately" is almost always a scam.

2.Verify before you click

Sender address, typos, odd link? Go directly to the official site instead.

3.One unique password per account

Use a password manager — it remembers everything for you.

4.Turn on two-factor authentication

One extra code at login: the single most effective defense against account theft.

5.Keep your software updated

Updates patch the flaws attackers exploit. Turn on automatic updates.

The 3 most common threats

🎣Phishing

Fake email or text: "your package is held," "refund available." Don't click — type the official address yourself.

💳Payment fraud

Fake sales sites, fake "guaranteed" investments, gift-card requests: nobody legitimate asks for payment in gift cards.

💻Fake tech support

Alarming pop-up "your computer is infected, call this number": close the page, never call.
