By accessing and using objectifcyber.ca, you accept these terms of use in full. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this site.
1. Nature of the service
ObjectifCyber is a free-access cybersecurity training site, with no mandatory sign-up, for individuals, small businesses, nonprofits and professionals in Quebec, Canada and internationally. Content is provided free of charge for educational purposes.
2. Informational nature of the content β not professional advice
All content published on ObjectifCyber β training modules, quizzes, guides, fact sheets, checklists and resources β is provided for strictly educational and informational purposes. This content:
- Does not constitute professional cybersecurity, legal or regulatory advice
- Does not substitute for a professional security assessment (audit, penetration test)
- Does not guarantee complete protection against all cyber threats
- Is based on recognized best practices at the time of writing β the threat landscape evolves rapidly
3. Disclaimer β Law 25 training: legal information, not legal advice
The Law 25 β SMB Guide training published on ObjectifCyber presents the Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (Law 25, CQLR c. P-39.1) for educational and informational purposes.
This training constitutes general legal information, distinct from legal advice as defined under Quebec's Act respecting the Barreau du QuΓ©bec. It sets out the law in general terms, refers to the applicable provisions and presents general best practices, but it does not assess any reader's particular situation, does not render an individual compliance verdict, and does not replace the advice of a lawyer.
The key distinction:
- Legal information (permitted): stating the law in general terms, referring to the applicable provisions, presenting generic best practices.
- Legal advice (reserved to lawyers): assessing a reader's particular situation, telling them whether they are compliant, dictating what to do in their specific case, or drafting custom legal documents for them.
By using the Law 25 training, you acknowledge that this content does not replace professional legal advice and that ObjectifCyber cannot be held liable for decisions made solely on the basis of this content.
4. Intellectual property
All content published on objectifcyber.ca β text, modules, quizzes, illustrations, site structure β is the exclusive property of ObjectifCyber, unless otherwise noted.
