The 5 golden rules

1.Hang up if you feel pressured

A real institution never threatens you over the phone.

2.Call back the official number

The one on your card or statement — never the one given in the message.

3.Never give your PIN

Neither your bank nor the police will ever ask for it. Ever.

4.Ask a family member first

Before any unusual payment, a second opinion changes everything.

5.Be wary of "good news"

Surprise refund, lottery, inheritance: that's the bait.

The 3 most common scams

📞The grandchild scam

"Grandma, I've had an accident, send money fast" — often with an AI-cloned voice. Hang up and call your relative at their usual number.

💳The fake refund

Text or email pretending to be from "the tax agency" with a link. Government agencies don't send refunds by text.

💻The fake technician

"Microsoft" call or pop-up: your computer is supposedly infected. Close it, turn it off, don't call.
